Dear SFS Families
Please read this note carefully if you are planning to apply for financial aid. The Financial Aid Application is due ASAP. Applications are considered on a first come, first served basis.
Please keep in mind the guiding points below as you fill out the application. This will help you make sure the application has been filled out properly.
Your latest Federal Tax Form 1040 will be required to be uploaded. If you have not filed taxes for the last tax year, please explain your circumstances in Section 10 of this Financial Aid Form. Also, if you have not filed taxes for this year, please include a copy of your previous year taxes, and forward a copy of your current taxes as soon as possible.
Section 5 total should match the adjusted gross income reported on Form 1040, usually found on line 37.
Dividends from investments and/or interest in Section 5 should match amounts reported on Form 1040 and the sources of such income should be listed in Section 7, lines e, f and g.
Section 6 must be filled out completely
If reported income exceeds reported expenses, please explain why you are seeking financial aid in Section 10
Please pay special attention to Section 4. The School for Strings does not award 100% financial assistance under any circumstances. Please make an estimate of funds available for education at SFS and list all contributing sources.
